Looking Forward to Seeing You Again.

I lost a friend toward the end of last year. As I recently practiced guitar, I broke into tears because the pick I was using was one that my friend John had given me. He was learning how to play guitar, and we traded extra guitar supplies with each other.
John constantly wanted to do new things and had several hobbies, and keeping up with him was hard for me. I am reminded of how he got me back into fishing. I hadn’t seriously tried to catch fish in over 10 years (I think that is a conservative guess). What I treasured most was that he was, and is, my brother in Christ. Facing sickness and death challenges our basic beliefs. Do you REALLY believe in what the Bible says? Did Yeshua go to prepare a place for John? What does the Bible say?
John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (ESV).
I think of others that I have lost. Family and friends, and the list is getting long. All the people I was thinking about had a relationship while alive with God. I will see them again. The problem is here and now, I miss the relationships, which sometimes clouds my thinking.
The Bible is Truth.
Philippians 3:20-21 says, “ But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself” (ESV).
We have to remember that life is not the end. My friends John, Elden, Anita, Don, Karine, my grandparents, my dad, my son, the family I didn’t get to know, family on my wife's side and others who guided me when I was young. The truth is I will get to see them again. Life in this world is brief, and I will shed tears over my friends and family. The thing that we need to remember is that there is also hope. Christ is the answer, and I am blessed that all these people followed Him.
The Bible is Truth. When God comes to dwell with His people, that will be a glorious day.
Revelation 21:3-4 “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away’” (ESV).
Praise God.
